NSW Nationals Senator Perin Davey has welcomed an agreement which will see boarding school students able to come home for the school holidays.
The agreement was made during today’s National Cabinet meeting, when state and territory leaders accepted the medical advice of the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC).
Senator Davey said this is promising news for border residents but words must turn into action.
“These families need reassurance that this announcement will come into effect before the holidays, I am hoping these new rules can be implemented as soon as possible,” Senator Davey said.
“We need to provide boarding school students and their families with certainty during a time where so much is uncertain.”
“This has been an incredibly stressful time for rural and regional students, I hope today’s announcement brings them a degree of hope of what’s to come”
