Deputy Nationals leader Perin Davey has criticised Anthony Albanese amid the jet scandal, saying she accepts the explanation for using two jets, but better measures could have been put into place.
“I certainly accept the explanation about the runway. I live in a regional area and I know that there are limitations to the size of planes, but I’m sorry when you look at those planes, they are not small planes,” Ms Davey told Sky News’ Afternoon Agenda.
“If you can’t fit your entourage – two ministers and their entourage – on those planes, you are taking too big of an entourage,”
“I think they need to have a look at their expectations,” she said.
“They should have got the plane pulled, for want of a better word, or indeed you can fly commercial to Newcastle and hire a car which is what a lot of us mere mortals have to do.”
The Prime Minister and Energy Minister Chris Bowen are facing questions following the use of two private jets to fly to the Hunter Valley to attend the same clean energy vent on Thursday.
