In this MPI speech, I make it clear that Australia’s agricultural sector must not be sacrificed in the name of climate change. Climate models can inform decisions, but they don’t tell the whole story, especially when billions of dollars and the livelihoods of Australians are at stake. Labor’s water buybacks are hurting rural towns, and their renewable energy projects are tearing through prime farmland and forests. Our farmers are already leading with innovative solutions like soil carbon sequestration and smarter water use. Agriculture is part of the solution, not the problem, and The Nationals will always back our farmers and their crucial role in Australia’s future.
